A Photo Editing Workshop for Absolute Beginners

Course description

The aim of this workshop is to develop knowledge, understanding and skills required to use an image editing software to do basic editing of digital images. This course, which is aimed at the absolute beginner in photo editing, will use the free-to-download software ‘GIMP’ which apart from being free of charge, is also very similar to other photo editing software like Photoshop. Students will be guided to download this software and learn how to transfer images from camera to computer, open them in GIMP and edit them using many ‘standard’ tools. The course will give a step-by-step guide on how to handle digital files, how to improve them, alter them or transform them and finally save them for digital or print output.
